What’s open
Bolton has a fantastic choice of shops, entertainment venues, things to do and places to eat and relax.
As more and more shops and businesses reopen their doors to the public come and join us to see what is on offer.
Enjoy life, shop, eat, drink and stay safe
As we continue to come out of lockdown remember to play your part, so that we can all enjoy what the borough has to offer, these simple steps have been produced to help keep us all safe
- Keep a 2m safe distance where possible
- Wash your hands often or use hand sanitiser
- Only handle items in shops if you intend to buy
- Wear a face covering on public transport and in enclosed spaces
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Respect others #bekind
In the town centre you’ll also see our new friendly and approachable town centre ambassadors, all there to assist visitors and help everyone move around the town centre safely and easily, helping with social distancing measures.
Free and easy parking
If you travel into Bolton town centre by car, don’t forget that to help lighten the load we have introduced two hours free parking each weekday, as well as weekends and Bank Holidays (in participating car parks). For more information see our news article.
Room to move
To help keep visitors safe and observe social distancing, pavements have been temporarily widened to create more space so that everyone can move safely about including, where appropriate, the introduction of one way systems.
We’ve also introduced road traffic calming measures including at NCP Topp Way car park to the town centre and to and from the Transport Interchange.
Advice and support to help businesses
We’re working with all Bolton’s businesses, signposting them to national guidance and resources and offering direct support with our regeneration, planning and licensing teams all helping them reopen safely, in accordance with national guidelines.
