Bolton Steam Museum Winter Warm-Ups
Join us on the last December weekend for our post-Christmas Winter Warm-Ups 'In Steam' demos. View the largest collection of working textile mill steam engines in the country.
Come down on Saturday 28 December and Sunday 29 December, 10am - 4pm. View the largest collection of working textile mill steam engines in the country.
Our volunteers have rescued and restored 30 old stationary steam engines, which once powered the cotton and woollen mills of the North of England, including 5 built in Bolton. Most will be running in steam on these 2 days only. Our oldest engine is now over 180 years old, and most are well over 100 years old! Come and see these magnificent examples of Victorian engineering restored and running once again!
The Museum is normally closed at other times, except for volunteers' working days, on Wednesdays & Sundays: 11am - 3pm, when visitors are welcome and a few engines can be run using electric motors.
