The museum’s art collection is represented in a new exhibition, on the lower ground floor.

Entitled Making Landscape, the exhibition features a selection from 1778 – 2016, including stunning 18th century watercolours to contemporary photographs.

Learn some basic coding skills at Westhoughton Library this summer. Use creativity and problem solving to create your own animations and games.

The weekly sessions will be every Thursday, 3pm to 4pm, starting 27 July and ending on 24 August. Please call 01942 634640 to book a place.

The sessions are suitable for children aged 8 and above.

The Gallery - Painting the Mythopoeic

For the month of August Harwood Library’s Gallery exhibition will feature acrylic mythical paintings by Frank Meadows.
Please note that the Gallery is on a Mezzanine floor and access is via a spiral staircase.

The Gallery is open during Harwood Library's opening hours.

Animals and Us exhibition

A new interactive, family exhibition is now open at Bolton Museum – with a tiny mouse as star of the show.

Leopold, the inquisitive mouse, has been designed by Chorlton illustrator Anna Violet and is the mascot for Animals and Us.

He will guide visitors through the exhibition, showing them how all animals – from insects to elephants – are an important part of our everyday lives.
